RICHMOND HILL CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Discover the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts

There’s nothing quite like attending a live performance. The simple act of sitting in a big, beautiful theatre, putting away your smartphone for an hour or two, and watching real live people express their artistic vision on the stage is still one of the most enriching and memorable experiences in modern life.

It’s the appreciation of the performing arts that led this town to create The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. Building this breathtaking facility was a long journey that began with Town Council’s approval in 2003 and culminated in the Grand Opening of the centre in 2009. Its 30 million dollar construction was the largest public construction project ever completed by the town government — and the result was a spectacular facility that integrated the fully restored historic building of the original Richmond Hill High School (Circa 1897) into an otherwise modernistic building of glass and steel. With a main auditorium seating capacity of 631 guests, the centre offers the largest seating capacity of any theatre venue in York Region, so there are few better places anywhere in the GTA to see a live show.

All year round, the RHCPA hosts a full program of professional entertainment that includes local and international acts from across a wide range of performance disciplines. On any given night, the centre may be hosting live music, dance, comedy or theatrical performances.
There are many great events that you and your family can discover by visiting the RHCPA website, but here are a few highlights that you can look forward to over the coming months.
